SUPER STATIC

Precision Yarn Tension Management

SUPER STATIC is ARMBURY's yarn tension control system that monitors and regulates the tension on every individual strand during the braiding process. Each bobbin feeding yarn into the braiding machine is held at a precisely calibrated tension, ensuring every fiber contributes equally to the rope's structural integrity. This eliminates the "weak link" problem where unevenly tensioned strands fail prematurely under load.

Uneven yarn tension causes some strands to bear disproportionate load, leading to premature failure

Consistent tension produces uniform diameter — no thick or thin spots along the rope length

Balanced fiber contribution means the rope achieves its maximum rated strength across the full spool

Improved handling: ropes braid evenly without lumps, stiffness variations, or twist memory

During braiding, each spool of yarn passes through a tension-controlled feed system before reaching the braiding head. The tension is calibrated based on the yarn material, diameter, twist count, and target rope construction. As the braiding machine operates, the feed system maintains constant tension regardless of spool diameter changes (as yarn depletes, the spool gets smaller, which would naturally increase tension without active compensation).
